Gabriel Yuristianti Andayani

Gabriel works for the Local Government of Jayawijaya District, Papua Province. Gabriel is a trained dentist working in clinical practice in a health centre in a very remote district in Papua province. She works closely with local government and NGOs in developing better health services and standards of care for the communities in the Papua Province. Having seen first hand the state of health among indigenous people in the Indonesian provinces, especially in the area in which she works, Gabriel has developed a keen interest in the health of the people of Papua, especially among women and children. She hopes that by attending the training she may develop her capacity in advocacy about human rights by learning about how to use the media and modern technology such as the internet in her advocacy on behalf of better health for Indigenous Indonesians. She also recognises the opportunity that the training will offer in sharing experiences with other participants from around the region, and to broaden her international/regional networks.
