Jefry Wandikbo

Member, National Committee of West Papua (KNPB)
Australia
Jefry works as a human rights advocate with KNPB. KNPB is a Papuan people’s organization which is peacefully campaigning for a referendum on self-determination for the Papuan people of West Papua. It also addresses the human rights violations of the Indonesian military and police. Members of KNPB have been arrested and subjected to ill-treatment/torture – and imprisoned as Prisoners of Conscience. Extra-judicial executions have also been reported in West Papua. KNPB cooperates with the International Parliamentarians for West Papua and the International Lawyers for West Papua (ILWP). Jefry hopes the training program will develop his knowledge of human rights laws and knowledge of UN mechanisms, and the skills he gains will help him in his peaceful human rights work.
