Cividep aims to create awareness about working conditions and labour rights standards in the garment, leather, electronics and plantation sectors both at the national and global scale. Cividep has also been working on the draft Guidelines of the Implementation of the UNGP’s. Through garment sector projects, Cividep works closely with the Garment Labour Union as well as community-based women organization ‘Munnade’. Parvathi hopes that the DTP program will be useful to learn more about the possibilities to apply human rights system effectively in human rights advocacy. Moreover, the practical skills that will be provided during the training will be helpful in better strategizing and organizing Cividep’s work around business and Human Rights in the future.
