Paula Makabory is a human rights activist and has been involved in exposing human rights violations and environmental destruction in the vicinity of Timika, where the giant, American-owned Freeport mine is based. Paula recently attended the World Council of Churches meeting in Brazil as a delegate for the Protestant church in West Papua.
