Rudi Kogoya

Public Lawyer Assistant (Asisten Pengacara Public LBH Jakarta), Jakarta Legal Aid Institute (LBH Jakarta)
Indonesia

Rudi works at Jakarta Legal Aid Institute, providing free legal assistance to marginalised groups and individuals. He has advocated for the victims of extrajudicial killing cases of four civilians from Nduga. Rudi started a campaign and mobilized Papuan students to rally and demand a fair trial for the perpetrators. He advocates for the government to stop using militaristic approaches and to end the conflict in West Papua, proposing peaceful dialogue as alternatives. He wants to join this program to build connections with international human rights defenders, especially because of how fragile the situation is advocating human rights violations that happen in the Papua. He wants friends to share their experiences and knowledge regarding civil society advocacy. Rudi also wants to develop his capacity in advocating using international standards and use this to empower disadvantaged groups.
