The Diplomacy Training Program, in partnership with AIPP, CIPA, IRAM, IWGIA, and other NGOs, co-organised this year’s regional IPHRD’s exchange learning and training in Kampong Thom province in Cambodia, August 19-23, 2024.

The program drew 46 participants (25 Women and 21 men, 2 of whom were persons with disabilities), from 10 countries (Australia, Bangladesh (online), Cambodia, India (Mainland and Northeast), Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, the Philippines, and Thailand).

The aim of the exchange was to assess the situation of Indigenous Peoples' rights and Human Rights Defenders (IPHRDs) in various countries, enhance documentation practices with a focus on both digital/filming and physical security, and strengthen evidence-building and advocacy strategies using different treaty and charter-based mechanisms.

Matthew Coghlan attended the exchange on DTP’s behalf and conducted training on Business and Human Rights as well as UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, OECD Guidelines, Equator Principles and IFC performance standards and the principles for responsible investment.
