April Jones

April is presently in Sydney completing the APS Graduate Program with the Department of Health. She was previously working as an Aboriginal Client Service Specialist at the Nowra Local Court. In her capacity as a specialist, she helped re-establish the Nowra Aboriginal Community Justice Group, which brought together community members to discuss issues of criminal justice. One of her key concerns is the over-representation of Aboriginal People in the criminal justice system. April would like to participate in large or small advocacy activities relating to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. April believes that participating in the program would help develop and strengthen her advocacy skills. April hopes to build her communication skills.
