Elil Rasendram

Country Director, Jesuit Centre for Social Concern
Sri Lanka
The Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) has a threefold mission: accompanying, serving and advocating for refugees and IDPs. The JRS works in 7 districts in the northern and eastern provinces of Sri Lanka. Elil, himself with a refugee background, is the country director of JRS and meets with diplomats and other UN officials to advocate for the rights of victims and to be a voice for them. He is also involved in conducting workshops at the grassroots level and believes that the DTP program will provide valuable information and also to assist JRS in strategizing their future work on transitional justice.
