Ken Knight (he/they) is a governance and research leader, educator, consultant and advocate with more than 15 years’ experience across research, health, government and the social sector. Grounded in human rights and social justice, his work focuses on how evidence, lived experience and community participation can shape better policy, practice, governance and systems change – including ensuring that those most affected by decisions have a meaningful role in shaping them.

Ken is Founder and Principal Consultant at Ken Knight Consulting and an Honorary Senior Fellow at the University of Melbourne, where he is actively engaged in research and teaching. He is a Chief Investigator on funded research spanning mental health, research ethics, trans and gender-diverse health, and co-design with children and young people. He serves on the Victorian State Government’s LGBTIQA+ Taskforce and the Royal Children’s Hospital Human Research Ethics Committee, and is former Chair and current Special Advisor to the Association of Australian Medical Research Institutes’ National Impact Committee.

Ken previously led Research Impact and Consumer Involvement at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute.
