Siti Khoirun Nikmah works for INFID, an umbrella organization consisting of more than 70 NGO organizations in Indonesia and abroad which are concerned with issues on Indonesian development. INFID’s mandate is to ensure that in the formulation and implementation of national and international policies on development, the principles of peace, justice and respect for human rights are observed. Siti Khoirun serves as Information and Documentation Officer of INFID responsible in preparing advocacy and information materials to INFID’s members, networks and the mass media. She also conducts researches on the issues of poverty particularly on the influence of international financial institutions (IFIs) and foreign loans to Indonesia’s economic development. Siti is doing a research about the impact of the IFIs on the economic and social rights of Indonesian people especially the poor which will be part of advocacy initiatives during the 2009 Asian Development Bank Governors Meeting to be held in Bali.
