2018 Indigenous Peoples, Human Rights and Partnerships for Sustainable Development – Malaysia

- I used to work on the ground where technicality and practicality is important such as economy and marketing. So the international standards and mechanisms don’t appear in my work. It is only when I joined DTP where I was able to gain in-depth understanding of international standards and mechanisms

The Diplomacy Training Program (DTP) and JOAS are calling for applications for a regional capacity-building program on Indigenous Peoples, Human Rights and Partnerships for Sustainable Development to be held in Malaysia on April 04-13, 2018.

This program will build the knowledge and skills of human rights defenders and Indigenous Peoples’ advocates to promote and protect human rights in the context of rapid economic development and the impact of the private sector on the lands and livelihoods of Indigenous Peoples and others. The program will build knowledge of international human rights standards and mechanisms that can be applied and integrated into effective advocacy strategies. This 10-day regional program will build practical skills for engaging with governments and businesses. Participants will learn from each other, share knowledge and build practical solidarity networks.
