In 2015 the Diplomacy Training Program (DTP) commenced a Special Program for Young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples passionate about being involved in advocating for human rights and Indigenous peoples’ rights. The program brought together a group of inspiring young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people from around Australia.
Trainers in DTP courses are experienced and highly respected Indigenous and non-Indigenous human rights lawyers, academics and community advocates. DTP is committed to participatory training methodologies that recognise and value the experiences and skills that participants bring to its programs. The training methodology is interactive with an emphasis on group work, role plays, case studies and discussion.
